Meet TCPalm's 2022 Girls Cross Country Team

At the end of each season, TCPalm selects All-Area teams recognizing the top athletes in each sport. Area coaches nominated players from their own teams and from other schools and along with research going through the data for games, meets, matches and tournaments throughout the regular season and postseason, TCPalm makes its selections of the All-Area teams.

RUNNER OF THE YEAR

Addison Boyer, South Fork

Year: Junior
Highlights: From start to finish, Boyer was the area's best collecting two race victories, posted three more second place finishes and had eight top 10 finishes in nine races. Boyer took second at the District 7-3A meet, ran a personal best time of 18:14.8 to take third at the Region 4-3A meet and took eighth at the FHSAA 3A Cross Country Championships.

FIRST TEAM

Jacey Lane, Lincoln Park Academy

Year: Sophomore
Highlights: Lane took another leap forward with her times for the Greyhounds and on the season earned seven top-four finishes this season. Lane won two events and was third at the District 7-2A meet, fourth at the Region 4-2A meet and ran a personal best of 18:43.3 to take 12th at the FHSAA 2A Cross Country Championship.

Emerson Brinn, South Fork

Year: Freshman
Highlights: Brinn moved over to South Fork for her freshman season and was steady posting eight top 10 finishes in nine events. Brinn ran a personal best time of 18:52 to take fourth at the District 7-3A meet, was 10th at regionals and earned a 24th place finish at the FHSAA 3A Cross Country Championship.

Ava Baysura, Vero Beach

Year: Senior
Highlights: Baysura, a University of Miami signee, was consistent all season with her times and posted four top 10 finishes including a race win and a second place finish. Baysura was eight at districts, ran a personal best of 20:05.6 at the Region 3-4A meet and took 72nd at the FHSAA 4A Cross Country Championship.

Carrington Brown, St. Edward's

Year: Junior
Highlights: Brown jumped on the local scene with a strong season winning two races and posted five top 10 finishes in total. Brown was fourth at districts, eighth at regionals and ran a personal best time of 20:08.2 to take 43rd at the FHSAA 1A Cross Country Championship.

Madison Movchuk, Martin County

Year: Junior
Highlights: Movchuk made a big jump in improvement from last season for the Tigers earning three top 10 finishes. Movchuk ran a personal best time of 20:34.9 at the District 6-4A meet to finish tenth.

Abby McLaughlin, South Fork

Year: Sophomore
Highlights: McLaughlin had a steady year for the Bulldogs finishing in the top 20 four times. Earning a 13th place finish at districts, McLaughlin ran a personal best of 20:39.3 to finish 80th at the FHSAA 3A Cross Country Championship.

Anna Cobb, Vero Beach

Year: Sophomore
Highlights: Cobb finished the back end of the season strong for Vero and in total had two top six finishes. Cobb took 18th at districts, ran a personal best of 20:39.3 finishing 27th and was 88th at the FHSAA 4A Cross Cuntry Championship.

Ava Vancour, Jensen Beach

Year: Sophomore
Highlights: Vancour recorded four finishes inside the top 20 including three top 10's for the Falcons. Posting a personal best time of 20:42.7 at the Region 4-2A meet, Vancour finished 27th.

Amelie Galbraith, Pine School

Year: Junior
Highlights: Galbraith led the Knights to a second straight state appearance and posted six top 10 finishes in 10 races. Galbraith was seventh at districts, 10th at regional and ran a personal best of 20:49.3 to finish 63rd at the FHSAA 1A Cross Country Championship.

Liliana Elliott, Vero Beach junior

COACHES OF THE YEAR

Stephanie Zugrave and Zac Wyckoff, St. Edward's

Highlights: Under the direction of Zugrave and Wyckoff, the Pirates had one of their strongest seasons in program history as they won the SSAC Championship, finished fourth at districts, took fifth at regionals to earn a berth to state where the team finished 21st at the 1A Championships.
