June 14, 2022 • Bryan Cooney Treasure Coast Newspaper

Kicking off our All-Area teams for the spring across the Treasure Coast are the girls track and field athletes who represented the area well in 2022.

A total of 41 Treasure Coast participants represented their schools at the state tournament with a mixed bag of sprinters, distance runners, pole vaulters and throwers all showing out among the state's elite.

Several top athletes excelled in multiple events for their respective schools to separate themselves from the pack receiving the distinction of First Team and Honorable Mention All-Area.

At the top of the list is Fort Pierce Central junior Richelle Williams, who was the class of the field locally all season as a sprinter all the way out to 400 meters.
